You can access the console by pressing the ~key or `key( grave) on your keyboard. In addition to that, there are various country tags, province ids and event ids that you can use and tailor your experience exactly how you like it. You can spawn items, add prestige to your nation, start a revolt, claim the territories of other countries and much more. Not to mention it smooths out a lot of bugs too. You can customize the game however you want and even unlock some hidden features. The game definitely needs some spicing up. There are some features that complicate the gameplay unnecessarily and then some features you wish you could have but can’t find.
Victoria II is one of the best strategy games and that is apparent when you see its popularity even a decade after its release.
